In the face of fairness and equity, political pundits believe the All Progressives Congress (APC) should Cede the Deputy Governorship slot of Ondo State to Ondo West Local Government.
With the gentleman agreement in Ondo State, it’s the turn of the Southern Senatorial District to occupy the Alagbaka Government House seat for
the next four years, while the central senatorial District occupy the coveted number two seat.
Without much ado, the current political office sharing has favoured Akure, which doubles as the state capital.
The office of the Secretary to the State Government is currently being occupied by an Akure Man, in person of Hon Tayo Oluwatuyi (TUKANA).
Another son of Akure is the present Senator representing the central Senatorial District in person of Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire (SAN).
The facts are their to be verified by any interested party that Ondo West has always returned the highest number of votes for any Governor in Ondo State.
Looking at the just concluded All Progressives Congress APC Governorship primary that produced the current Governor as the flag bearer of the party,Ondo kingdom emerged as the number one local government that returned highest number of votes for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Putting all these into consideration it’s glaring that Ondo West deserves to be given the Deputy Governorship slot without blinking of an eyes.
In as much as the governor has the right to pick anyone from the central senatorial district, the leaders of the All Progressives Congress are enjoined to look at all the facts above and build the winning formula of the party around these facts.
